Today, we are joined by Jennifer Jakobsen, a life and clarity coach helping female entrepreneurs create clarity in their business to feel confident, make important connections, and create a lifestyle of financial freedom and independence for themselves and their families.

We talk about the 4 C framework; Clarity, Confidence, Connections, and Consistency, which leads to more cash. Clarity means being clear on your vision, where you are going, your mission, why you got into the business, who your ideal client is, and how you will solve your audience’s problem.  Clarity is the backbone of all the other C’s.

As many people say, money is a blessing and not a source of evil. You cannot serve more humanity and make bigger impacts in society without finances. Therefore, the more money you can create, the more impact you make. It is also an exchange of energy. The energy you spent helping someone solve a problem will be rewarded in cash. Learn more about becoming clearer and bringing you more cash in your business.

Cause yes, my name is dragon at Jacobson hyphenated, but that doesn’t really matter. You want to talk about cash?

So we’re talking to Jennifer who is a certified life and clarity coach for female entrepreneurs. She is all about helping you get clear because you know what? Clarity leads to more cash in our bank accounts. So without further ado, let’s dig in. And those. I believe you burn out, put aside any imposter syndrome feelings and ask yourself, what is it you really want? Because success starts from within rediscovering yourself, builds confidence in your message and who you are. Your tribe will follow. Let’s unleash the magic inside by being our true, authentic selves.

Starting podcasting for your soul in 3, 2, 1. So welcome back to the podcast, Jennifer, another Jennifer Jacobson in the house. I am so excited to have you back as part of the money Mae, you are a podcaster and your podcast is called clarity that. That’s exactly what you bring to the world. So welcome back.

Oh my gosh. Thank you so much for inviting me back. I’m so excited to be here and I love the idea of money may so may is actually my birthday month. So I think it’s perfect. And I am all about getting clarity. So you can make the cash that you need in your business, which we all need. Yes. Yes. And I think that clarity piece is something that.

It’s near and dear to my heart, because the clearer I get the easier the money flows, it seems like instead of getting stuck in the muck. But can you tell us a little bit about, I know you have four CS, what are your four CS? Yeah, I actually got, I have four CS to get to the fifth C and I’ll tell you about that.

But yes, my first C is actually the most involved C because that is clarity. So the first C is clarity and that really includes. Not to get too complicated on this episode today, but it includes five things. So clarity means basically being clear on your vision, which is, where you’re going, where you truly want to end up, right.

At some point and your vision never, it’s not like a. It’s not like a end point. It’s not okay, this is the happily ever after, and now I’ve reached it. And everything’s just, , sunshine and butterflies, but vision is something that you’re always striving for. And so getting super clear on that can really help guide us in everything in business.

Get it, , what decisions we’re making, how we set our boundaries. It also really helps us with What our content is and what we really are all about. And that leads to the second piece of clarity, which is your mission. And I see that as your bigger, why vision and mission are close, but I feel like mission is kind of like your big reason for having a business because, I don’t know, we all have that, like that thing, that thing that really drives us and the thing that really excites us, and that’s what keeps you going, especially when things get tough, because in entrepreneurship, you are on a roller coaster.

And so keeping your mission really, really clear can help with that rollercoaster rides. So those are the first two parts of clarity. And then the third part of clarity. Really just knowing who your person is, who your ideal client is. And we talk about this so much in entrepreneurship, but it’s we need to get.

Really get to more than just okay, it’s a woman, her name’s Susie. She has three kids and two dogs. It’s way more than that. It’s what is keeping Susie up at night? What is she struggling with and what problems. Is she willing to spend money on to get out of her way. Right. Because we all have those things.

And so what’s keeping her up at night. What would, , what would really make a huge difference in her life if she wasn’t struggling with that anymore? So that’s the next piece. Kind of the problem that your ideal client is having. And then the next piece is your solution. So how are you going to help your ideal client?

How are you going to help Susie get to, , the solution to that problem? How are you going to guide her? How are you going to support her to get to the solution? What’s the solution she’s looking for? So what’s the transformation that she’s going to pay you for, because she’s not going to just pay you for.

, having a a nice, pretty calendar, right. Or having, you know, her, her time blocked out. I mean, maybe she would, but it depends on how severe her problem is. So anyway, getting clear on that and then my favorite. Fifth piece of clarity is knowing what your roadblocks are, and these are your mindset blocks, and we all have them.

And if you don’t know what they are, you’ve got to figure out what they are because they will come up again. It’s a rollercoaster ride. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. And so once you know what your, what your. Kind of the things that are getting in the way. And they’re usually thoughts that are happening over and over again.

And I, I call them, they all have kind of a, some of the most common ones have names that sound like diseases like comparisonitis or imposter syndrome or paralysis analysis. Right? Some of these are. The roadblocks that get in our way, but they’re not diseases. They’re actually part of being human and having a human brain.

So just being able to identify what those are is the first part. And then I also can help you to overcome them and help you to make sure that they aren’t blocking you from getting to your vision, your mission, and helping your ideal. So that’s clarity and that’s a big C that’s like the ginormous huge C and then all the rest of the seeds really follow from that.

So once you have clarity, the second C is confidence. And what is so amazing is that once your clear. You are automatically going to feel confidence. So if you work really hard on the first seed, the second seed doesn’t seem so hard after all. So once you’re confident, you are really able to now start to sell to your.

I am because you have energy that you just, it it’s through the roof, right? Like your energy is just like coming out and your ideal client will absolutely feel your confidence. And when they feel confident in you, they will trust you and they will definitely want to buy from you. So that’s the second.

The third C is, oh my gosh, what’s my third C connections. So you have to make connections because even if you’re super clear and you’re super confident if you’re not talking to anyone, , maybe your golden retriever laying next to you, it’s not going to make a difference. So you have to make connections and you also need to make really powerful connections.

But once you’re clear and you’re competent, those connections are going to be a lot more co more powerful. So that’s the third seat. And then I actually added a fourth C later because I didn’t think it was that important. And so I called it the bonus seat. And now I know that it’s actually just as important as the other ones.

It’s just not as sexy. And that is consistency. So once we’re clear and confident and we’re making connections, we have to do it consistently over time. Because again, Entrepreneurship. It’s, it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. And so if we continue to consistently make those connections over time, that gets us to the, what I call my Fisi, which is really our kind of our end game, which is cash.

And I I’ve always hesitated talking about it as cash because everyone’s oh, but that feels really. Selfish, you just want money and it’s really not because in order for us to make an impact and almost every single woman, who’s an entrepreneur that I speak to. They, it’s not just about the money. It’s about making an impact.

It’s about making a difference. It’s about. Serving who they want to serve. And so that’s that cash is necessary to do that because if we don’t make money, we can’t grow our business and we can’t serve the people that we want to serve. So that’s kind of the, the long and the short of the a four slash five C framework that I teach.

I love that. And I think that you brought up a good point is that we don’t like talking about cash immediately. We’re like, Ooh, we don’t want to make money. Ooh. Why can I, let’s not monetize our gifts. That’s not right. This is something that’s natural to me. But somebody told me the other day that the more income you make, the bigger impact you can make, because it’s so true.

Like that cash piece should be. Maybe not our top priority service, , for me services first that cash piece allows me to start. Absolutely. Yeah. And if you don’t have the cash, you can’t serve, you can’t serve the people that you were put on this earth to serve. So you have to charge the money.

And here’s the other thing that I have learned along the way, which I find so interesting as well, is that. When people invest in coaching, they actually get a heck of a lot more out of the coaching too. You know, if you give something, if you give someone something for free, they’re not going to put the time in.

They’re not going to put the energy they’re going to do it kind of, you know, halfway, but if they invest. Time and they invest money into your guidance, your support, your help, whatever that might look like. They are going to get a bigger return on their investment than if it was, you know, a special of 9 99 for 10 coaching sessions.

They’re not going to get anything out of it. So money is. It’s, you know, it, it doesn’t need to feel awkward or bad for us. It’s absolutely necessary. And it also helps our clients to, yeah. I believe that it’s an energetic exchange. When I look at money, I, I now think of it as energy. It’s okay, my energy is going out.

What energy are you giving back to me? If we’re not friends, if we’re not, , on this like space of where we’re giving, taking, and we are a give and take in a client situation, I feel like that’s their energy. Created that money through energy and effort. Now they’re giving me that energy and effort that I can absorb as I give back to them.

What I’m, you know, whatever my magic is of the day. Absolutely. Yes, absolutely. I totally agree with that. I, I just, I love what you’re doing and I love that you’ve created this podcast. I’d like to talk a little bit about your podcast because we’re all, especially for fellow podcasters out there, , we’d like to support other people’s podcasts and I love your podcast clarity to cash.

And I know this is part of your business, but when did you decide podcasting was going to be part of your business plan? Oh my gosh. I have no idea when I decided it was always this little, like seed in the back of my mind that I would have a podcast one day and I actually had a podcast for awhile that I did with another woman.

And I love doing it. It was so much fun because. Being able to meet new people and have really great conversations and connections. And that’s what I’m all about. That’s just kind of who I am like at my core is I just love connecting to people and asking questions and talking to them. So I had a podcast for a while with someone else, but it was clear.

It was not heading in the direction that I wanted it to go. It was, it was fun. And it was It was inspiring and all of that, but I really felt like I had this message that I wanted to get out there. And I wanted to teach women, especially female entrepreneurs, all of the things that I was learning, because I, I feel like there’s so many.

I hate to say this, but I feel like there’s a lot of coaches and mentors out there who are not necessarily teaching us the things that we really need to know. And sometimes I think they make a lot of false promises. I’ve gone through this myself and, you know, we think we’re getting one thing and we’re really getting something else.

And so I really just. I, I feel very called to help people not make the same mistakes that I have made. I’ve been doing this for almost five years and I started out with zero knowledge of marketing or sales or any of it. And so I’ve had to kind of figure it out. I’ve gone along. And so I really just want to help people to know it doesn’t have to be that difficult and I want to share the knowledge that I’ve gained and a really simple way that.

That they can just easily take the, , take the tips and, and go implement them. Because the other thing that I drives me nuts is people that have like extremely long podcasts where they just, you know, are talking and talking and talking, there’s all this fluff. And really it’s we don’t have time for that when it gets to the good stuff.

Right. And so my podcast, I always knew it would be something where you. Quick value, short, sweet, and to the points value that’s going to help you because. Yeah, it’s we don’t have time to weed through all of the , the excess. So we want to just know, and I want to teach. What’s going to really help.

And I want to teach what’s helped me and what I’m learning as I go along, because, you know, we just, we need somebody on our side. So I know I’m like really long-winded right now, but I guess it’s just kind of always been there. Like I just wanted to, , create this place where people can just come and listen to me and listen to what I’ve learned and listened to the interviews that I do, because the people that I interview and.

Exactly the same for you is there are people who have something really powerful to share and we can’t do it all alone. Right. So I can’t just have a podcast and teach everything that there is to know about business. So I bring people on my podcast who are a little out of my zone of genius so that my listeners can really learn from the experts in whatever, you know, whatever area I maybe don’t know as much.

So I hope that answered your questions. And like I said, it listeners, if you’re listening and you do want that quick, you know, like clarity to cash it, the name says it all. If you need the clarity, because you are seeking more cash, you need to jump over, pause this episode, jump over to her show, follow our show and do all the things because that’s one of the things I love about your show is when I go visit my mom, it’s like a 20 minute drive.

I get the whole episode. Granted, I do speed it up a little bit because again, another luxury of the podcast, but there are so many takeaways by the time I get wherever I’m going, I need a notepad where I can like scribble and still watch the road. There are so many golden nuggets that you give to people or your guests give to people that it’s like.

I didn’t even think about things that way. So I really appreciate that. That’s what you’re bringing into the world. And , this whole concept of clarity to cash. I just want to say while you were explaining your podcast and explaining. , the connections and conversations and you know, you’re saying all these seas, there can be a whole bunch more CS you can ask.

There’s there’s many things out there and I just, I love what you’re doing. And I love that you’re making cash. Something that isn’t, , the normal stigma money’s bad. We don’t want this, you know, you can really make the money. And still be a good human. Absolutely. Oh my gosh. Thank you so much, Jen, that just like totally made my day.

You’re filling my cup right now. That’s so I’m like I said, I do love what you’re doing. It doesn’t help, , it helps, it were also the same name, my name, I loved that, that part also. I know that you’ve just, you’ve come out of these rich, you’ve done retreats lately. I’ve seen this with treats.

You also do these amazing events called coffee chats. Yeah. It is coffee and coffee and conversation. Right. I think it’s copying connection, connection, coffee chat for short yeah. Coffee chat for short. Yeah. And I really I just, I created that because again, I love connecting and here’s the other thing, I definitely sell, you know, what I have to offer in terms of my program, but I don’t want to just connect with people. If they hire me, I want to connect with people, even if they’re not going to hire me. And here’s the thing, I love podcasts. I’m obsessed with podcasts. I listened to them all the time, but the only problem with podcasts.

It’s not a two way streets when your, , when you’re listening to a podcast and you’re, you know, you’re listening to whatever somebody is saying, and you want to say something back, you can, , you can message them maybe on Instagram or, , shoot them some kind of a message. But I love the conversation.

I love the back and forth. I love being able to, , have a place for people to come and get some of those, like hopefully golden nuggets without having to, , buy into my whole program. I mean, eventually I’d love for them to do that because that’s where they’re going to get the money. You know, the most value and the most change in their business if they’re having some struggles, but I want people to be able to come and have conversations with me and ask questions and get support and get feedback without having to spend a ton of money.

Like I want to give that I want to give back in that way. And I also want people to get. Of who I am and what I’m here to offer. Because again, like I was kind of alluded to earlier, there’s a lot of coaches out there who I don’t think are in it for the right reasons. I think they are out just to make the money and that’s it.

And they don’t really, I don’t know. They just don’t really care about listening to. , what your struggles are. They just kind of want to give you information and that’s not what coaching is coaching. Isn’t just telling people what to do. Coaching is asking questions and guiding and supporting and helping.

And so I want people to know that that’s what I offer, and this is a way for people to get to know me and get to know kind of how I run my groups and that sort of thing without having to. Blindly spend money. I mean, there’s been people who I’ve followed through podcasts where I like kind of I’m interested and I want to maybe sign up for their program, but there’s no way to talk to them first.

Like they don’t even do connection calls. They just are like, give me $15,000 and I’ll help you. And I’m like I can’t do that, but if you have a place where I can learn more about you and learn to trust you first, , because I don’t think we should just jump into things blindly. I think we need to be able to trust the person who is guiding us on our journey.

So, and that’s why the coffee chats there. It’s a place to connect a place to, and maybe I’m not the one that’s going to help them. Maybe they’re going to meet somebody else entirely and maybe that’s who they need, , maybe. You’ve been on my coffee chats and maybe they need help specifically with podcasting and you are a wealth of information in that department.

And so I don’t want them to hire me because I’m not going to be able to guide them on podcast strategy. That’s that’s your area of expertise. So that’s also the point of it is to have a place where people can really meet the people in, , in business that are going to be able to help them. Yeah, I think that’s what sets you apart and why I was drawn to come back to you for this cash conversation is that you’re doing marketing and advertising and all those things completely different.

Like you are breaking the norms because you like, like you said, I did go, I have been in your coffee chats. Yeah. It is really a conversation between everyone and it’s approached with so much love and this podcast is all about love and self-love, and I can see in there that it’s not, when you come in to so many of these coffee chats, it’s okay, here we go.

Here’s my presentation. Do you have questions about my stuff? Like you actually allow people to show up as themselves and have this beautiful space. And I think that that’s one of the things that really sets you apart in this coaching world, from the people that I’ve met. Thank you. I appreciate that.

Yeah, I really hope so because I mean, let’s face it. There’s so many coaches out there these days, and I love that. I love that there’s a ton of coaches, cause that means that coaching is becoming more part of our lives. And I kind of think everyone could use a coach. I think that’s true, but I, I really think we need to really trust the people that we’re going to work.

’cause they kind of become part of our lives in a way. And our business or businesses are sort of an extension extension, sorry, that’s a hard word to say of us. And so being able to, have someone that you really trust and the truth is is we can’t always separate out our business from our.

Either. And so having someone that you can be like, oh my gosh, I’ve just had the worst. Day-to-day like, I can’t even work on my business because this other thing is going on. And so I want to be that person that isn’t integrative coach, because that’s the way I was trained as a coach. And I also am trained as a therapy.

So, you know, if other things come up and you’re like, I can’t even focus on my business today because I just had this horrible fight with my husband. We can talk about that because actually that does relate to your business because if you can’t get over this, , other thing that’s holding you back again, like that’s, , that’s a block, that’s something that’s in the way.

And so we want to be able to manage that thing first so that you can get back to building your dream and your vision. Yeah, because everything is connected in life and it all comes back to how you’re feeling inside. I think that’s super important for everyone to pay attention to is it’s yeah, we try to separate, but it’s even harder as an entrepreneur to separate.

It really is. Yeah. And so that’s why I feel like. Coming at it from the psychology’s standpoint. And that’s my whole background. Like I said, I’m, I’m not the person that has had , 20 years in the corporate space, but what I’ve learned over time is that really all of the stuff that we need to grow our business actually.

Is based in psychology, because it’s all about our thoughts. It’s all about the feelings that we have. And if you’re feeling like crap, no matter how great your copy is, or , how fabulous your program is, people are going to see that they’re going to be able to feel that your energy. Is low and they’re not going to want to work with you because they don’t, you know, they don’t want that to be part of what they’re hiring.

They want someone who’s uplifted and positive and confident. And the way that you get to that is by overcoming those mindset blocks with you. Well, yes, I’m plugging that in there with Jennifer. So where can people find you other than your podcast? Oh, my gosh. Well, I have a Facebook group. I would love to tell you guys about, but I guess I’ll have to, I’m not even sure what it is, so you’ll have to just see it in that, in the show notes.

It’s basically called, okay, I’m pulling it up here. It’s called clarity and passion for female coaches and entrepreneurs. And that is a place where you can go and get support and get guidance and get. Tips, I’m working on really starting to do more trainings in that group. So you can get more of those quick little feedback or a quick little Tips and feedback on your business, in that group.

And then always on Instagram. I love Instagram I’m on there all the time and please feel free to DM me there if if you want to. And I’m sure you’ll link that into the show notes too, but it’s basically Jay Jacobson life coach. Jacobson with a K not a C like your lovely host here today. I’m not even sure if on my podcast, I, I let my listeners know cause I’m I go by Jen dragon at so often.

By the way guys, my name is Jennifer dragon. It hyphen Jacobson, FYI, little secret until, you know, little backstory for those, those that are listening, that haven’t seen me on any of the socials with my full name, but. So much for coming back and having this conversation about how getting clear can bring you more cash in your business.

I want to leave you with my final favorite question, which I know, , if someone wanted to walk away with just that one little mic drop. Mic drop. I don’t know if I have a mic drop one, but I just have to say, based on what we’ve talked about today is just know that you don’t have to do this alone and that once you’re clear, it all becomes so much easier.

So if you’re struggling like. Get some help on getting clear. If you don’t get help from me, get help with somebody or get help from somebody else, because we can’t always see the things that are in our way. And so I just encourage people to get support. I know sometimes as women, we really want to do it.

On our own, we want to be strong and we want to feel empowered to make all these things happen. But I really think it takes more than just you. I think you really are going to see so much more success in your business and in your life. If you ask for that help when you need it. There’s so many people who are there to help you and make sure that you connect with the right person, because that is the secret.

And when you connect and you get clear, you will feel confident and you will make that cash.
